From the food we prepare, the fertilizer that supports all forms of agriculture, to the cars we drive, every aspect of our life is affected by chemical companies. Because different chemicals require different raw materials, different technologies, and specialized equipment to produce them, many chemical companies focus their efforts on a single market segment. Examples of chemical companies include refineries, ethanol producers, agrochemical producers, and companies that produce chemicals for human consumption.

Refinery

Refineries produce various chemicals by distilling crude oil. Crude oil is a complex molecular soup containing dozens of organic compounds. The refiner boiled the oil in the fractionator until it vaporized. When the steam rises and begins to condense again, they are collected by chemical companies to different levels in the column. Well-known refining chemicals include gasoline, kerosene, diesel, propane, and petroleum sludge, which are some of the main raw materials for manufacturing plastics.

Agrochemicals

Agrochemical companies produce a variety of products, including liquid or granular fertilizers, herbicides, and pesticides. Some of these products have unique formulations designed for specific plant types, such as lawn grass on golf courses. Other mixtures can be safely applied to all food crops. An example of an agrochemical producer is the grower fertilizer company. The company produces various fertilizers and provides several mixtures of potassium, phosphorus, and nitrogen.

Ethanol producer

Since Congress stipulated the use of ethanol in automobile blended gasoline, countless ethanol factories have begun to produce this fuel additive. Ethanol is usually distilled from corn. Many of these facilities are built in the Midwest, known as the "corn belt". The chemical composition of ethanol is the same as that found in vodka or gin, but its purity is much higher and it also contains denaturants.

Household chemicals

Some domestic chemical companies produce compounds for human consumption. A good example is Church Dwight Co., Inc., the manufacturer of arm Hammer baking soda. The chemical name of baking soda is sodium bicarbonate, and the chemical formula is NaHCO3. It is used in baking as an antacid and a natural deodorant.

In general, chemical companies are diverse, and we can treat each chemical company correctly according to our own needs.
