It is hectic task to keep control over all the students in addition to the academic management. Each individual is different and the behavioral dynamics such as temperament, socialization and communication needs to be clearly understood before implementing a disciplinary plan which can take a whole lot of assigned time by the respective teacher. Being in the middle of a highly crowded classroom is no more an easy task especially when it comes to younger children. More often than not, some pupils tend to fall into an unnecessary arguments with the teachers deliberately just to have fun or just to defend their inability to understand the sessions. However, such behaviors are acceptable if they have a genuine reason rather than blaming the kids. Student misbehaviors like whispering, disruptive talking, missing out a few important classes just to show a resistance against a particular teacher , clowning, frequently interfering with teaching activities, harassing classmates, severe verbal insults must not be taken into granted as these can spoil the discipline of the whole systems. Few children tend to be rude, arrogant, and highly defiant and these must be properly acknowledged by identifying what causes such behavior. In middle school and high school children, there is a high tendency of groupism, gang behaviors, commenting the teachers in an insulting manner however it is not very common. Some of the tips that help in constructively managing the rebellious students are as follows:
1. Understand the group
It is very true that a bunch of students make huge difference from another bunch hence it is highly important to get to the psychology of individual student as well as the group as a whole. It is good to classify kids into various group but making sure not to create a mindset of discrimination among them. This will help in streamlining, planning and implementing the necessary behavioral interventions. Kids can be divided into smart, talkative, indiscipline etc. It is also important to identify specially abled and disabled children to plan things in a strategic way. A teacher has to closely work with other staff, parents and peers to get the accurate data. Some pupils might be suffering from depression, anxiety, or ADHD which the parents have ignored or being deliberately not told to the authorities. These must be identified and necessary arrangements to be made for consultation.

2. Have some idea about the normal psychology of students
In many organizations, teachers have been given an orientation and induction program about general psychology of student and of course this must be mandatory. Understand the fact that, when in group, students tend to break a few rules and it must be treated sometimes normal to an extent however, a firm boundary need to be constructed to what extent such behaviors can be tolerated and to what extent they can operate their freedom. Most generally observable behavior among the student is to break rules as they feel rules are made to be broken however, making sure that the students are aware of what is socially unacceptable. It is a good idea to ignore some petty issues such as a student wearing sunglasses in the classroom, silly comments made on others however, if a student has committed a mistake repeatedly , this must be properly handled.

3. It is good to act instead of reacting
As a teacher, one need to be highly patient and tolerant. The teacher`s behavior must not be a reason for provocative responses from the students especially in the middle of a crowded batch. When a teacher witness defiant behavior it is better to avoid being angry and lose temper as this might further escalate the threshold of the problem, instead, it is advisable to take a step back and tell the student about the consequences of an underlying act. This will give an opportunity for a student to rethink and rectify himself or herself instead being regretted for disciplinary action. A clearly written regulations must be discussed in the disciplinary committee and that must be approved by the principal before displaying on the notice board. A range of actions pertaining to the different types unacceptable behaviors such as ragging, drug abuse, verbal abuse, physical assault, should be defined well along with the range of penalties including removals, dismissals, and impositions etc. need to be clearly informed to the students.

4. Follow a systematic disciplinary protocol
It is not a correct idea to punish students every time when they commit a mistake. Being approachable to the students sometimes prevent a lot of consequences for both the teacher and the students. As a teacher one should ensure that the students can approach easily but if we try to enforce rules without proper and clear communication, they tend to be more rebellious than ever. It is essential to make them understand what they have done, and provide a step by step action plan such as warning for the first timers, a nominal fine for the repeaters and dismissal as a severe action. However, antisocial behaviors may need to attract a legal action such as rustication. One way to improve the special groups such as rebellious children is to have a home tutor for them.

5. Influence of a positive communication
Always keep close communication with the respective parents as this can provide cushion to act when necessary. If possible maintain an anecdotal record for an individual students this can also help in behavioral assessment rewarding. Parents must be called for a brief meeting at least once every month as this can make things easy and instant. There must be a clear and positive communication in the presence of parents, authorities and the student but not to forget, respect the student`s privacy if necessary . This means, as a teacher, it is not fair to report every behavior to the parent as this might increase the friction between the child and parents, instead the most significant behavior that has negative impact need to be told and described in written form only if necessary.
6. Never ignore the individuality
In other words, do not compare 2 or more students. It is always important to notice a specific behavior which a student is not at all able to control. For example, some children tend to forget to stand up while answering and this might have happen unintententionally. Therefore it is important understanding the difference between the person and his behavior.

In a nutshell, as a teacher, be constructive and respect everyone. It is important to clearly define the terms and be firm on them. Always be open and explain things before implementing an action plan. Every action should result in the change of a behavior but not to harm.
