For the occasional drop in guest or a regular visit from family, making sure your guests stay is the best possible is always of the utmost importance. If you are fortunate enough to have the extra space in your home, converting one of your rooms into a guest bedroom is a great idea. By having a room that is dedicated for regular visitors, or the unexpected overnight guest, you will always be prepared for visitors. But what's the secret to making your guests feel right at home?

For starters, make sure that your guests have privacy. Consider it a haven entirely their own. Pick out window treatments that not only provide privacy, but will allow you to adjust the lighting in the room too. There are a ton of different window blinds on the market nowadays in a variety of styles. Your guest's privacy from the remainder of the household is another important consideration. In that respect, there should be working door locks that allow your invitee seclusion as they clothe or seek time away from grandchildren.

The guest bedroom should always be pleasant and have an open air to it. Overcrowding the room with accessories and knickknacks should be avoided at all cost, even if you have to box up some items. The decor should be kept simple with a small floral arrangement and a few picture frames. Use the theory that less is more in this room.

For those guests that will be around for more than just one night, you'll want to be sure they've a place to keep their property. Provide a few empty drawers in the bureau and your guest will not have to live out of their traveling bag. Not only will this help them feel more welcome, it will retain the tidy appearance of the guest room in Islamabad, Pakistan. Allow for some closet space with hangers too. Also provide a cleared out place either in the closet or below the bed to allow guests to stash away their baggage. Once again this will keep the room refined and your guests feeling welcomed.

What good would a guest room be without a comfortable bed?. This will definitely be the most important element to a pleasant stay. A double size mattress is preferable. Although they hopefully won't spend their whole visit in bed, this could be a much needed opportunity for your guests to sleep in. A quality mattress should definitely be part of the guest room decorating agenda. There is no need to overextend your budget. If it is a place you would be willing to sleep yourself, it will most likely be a place your guests will want to spend time too. Providing cleaned, crisp bed linens is a given. The elemental cotton jersey sheets will do just hunky-dory. Always offer an additional blanket for chilly nights and an assortment of pillows for your guest's utilization.

Most guests house Islamabad, Pakistan will appreciate some personal items in the room. An alarm clock and bed table lamp are must haves for the guest room. Throw a few pens and maybe a notepad into the bed table drawer for convenience. You can add special touches like a box of tissues, a bottle of lotion and a scented candle. Put a few of your favorite books or recent magazines in the room. Female guests will likely appreciate a mirror. Often a pitcher of water and glasses are an appreciated addition as well. The guest bathroom should be substantially equipped with clean towels, soap and toilet tissue. If the bath is shared by the household, then make certain family members are conscious of the time they spend in the bathroom to guests to get sufficient time in the bathroom too.

Don't feel as if you have to spend every minute with your guests. They too should at no point feel they are a hindrance to your routine. Show them to their room, let them know where to find things in the kitchen and how to operate the television or stereo in the family room and then give them some space. Your guests should be relaxed and comfortable so that their visit will be relaxing and memorable for both of you. When you have everything in order before your guest's arrival the entire visit is sure to be a pleasant one. Your guest bedroom should leave visitors anxious to return.
